It’s the travel season again! Every year, I plan at least one international trip and one trek in the Himalayas. During a trek, I spend 7 to 10 days in the lap of nature and come back with memories to cherish for the entire year and beyond. Bountiful views and meeting residents of remote villages conjure up those feelings and emotions which a city life would never create.
If a trek provides me with a much-needed rejuvenation every year, international trips expose me to multiple cultures, sample various cuisines and help in meeting folks from different ways of life. A yearly international trip of mine is essentially 15 to 20 days long. My style is generally backpacking; living in hostels and traveling in local buses. Along with a trek and an international trip, I also plan weekend trips throughout the year.
Due to such intensive travel, I tend to use my travel bags and accessories very often. Sometimes ripping my bag off the bus door or leaving my waterproof camera cover back in a hostel give me jibes. Hence, I am always in need to buy travel related stuff.
Last Saturday, I was browsing online to buy a backpack for an upcoming Himalayan trek. Additionally, I had to buy some travel accessories like ear plugs and camera covers. During my search, I came across the ongoing travel sale in Central stores. Across all the stores in India, Central was offering 50% flat on travel bags and accessories. The offer sounded too good to be true as generally, these stores run “up to” 50% discount to lure a customer in. When you walk in, you find nothing but dismay when they levy those special conditions. However, in high hopes, I decided to check out the nearest Central store.
Upon reaching the store, I visited their travel section. A skeptic at first, I wasn’t very hopeful about getting flat 50% off on travel bags. But, I was glad to be proven wrong. Right from 20-liter backpacks to premium suitcases, it was a flat 50% off on each and every travel bag they had. With a wide range of brands participating, the collection was impressive here. The participating brands were Wildcraft, Victorinox, Swiss Army, Delsey, American Tourister and VIP along with other few. I also looked at their travel accessories and was delighted to find offer applicable there as well.
The experience of shopping Central Stores was delightful. The neatly stacked bags and helpful staff make shopping an experience here. The brightly lit interiors of Central stores create an ideal ambiance for shopping indulgence. Under these glimmering lights is a wide range of travel bags and accessories, waiting for you to pick up at flat 50% discount!
After spending a couple of hours roaming around the travel section, I did manage to pick up a 23-liter Wildcraft backpack and a couple of travel accessories. I also bought a mid-size suitcase as it would be helpful for weekend trips.
For me, it was a weekend well spent as I was able to get my travel bags and accessories at a great price! To discover that retail can still beat online e-commerce brands in offering discounts helped me save some good money. Browsing through their wide range of collection reminded me of those shopping days when browsing through collection was not only a task but an experience in itself!
If you are planning a trip, do keep an eye out for Central luggage sales. It’s a great way to save some money!
